VIVA ITALIA! sorta...

the closest thing las vegas has to a county fair is the San Genarro Feast.  It occurs twice a year in Las Vegas.  Finally, after three years, I opted to go and partake in the festivities.  Note to self and to visitors  - DO NOT go on a weekend night.  so crazy busy!

in any case, there are carnival rides, food, food, food, food, entertainment and vendors.  the main food area is just one huge circle, with pasta and sausages scenting the air with its intoxicating aroma.  not everything was italian though - there were funnel cakes, carnival food, hot dogs, burgers, ribs, etc.  but wow, didnt want to be using a port-a-potty, so i utilized self control.  here is a collage (im in love with my collage maker) depicting the highlights of the night...

see, thats me in the top, my face is really....in there...hahaha,  my friend couldnt really step back to take the picture bcs we were in the air, and i wore makeup but it mustve gotten steamed off.... but thats the view from the bucket ferris wheel ride..then theres shaved ice..excuse me, i mean, Hawaiian shaved ice, ravioli and meatballs, funnel cakes, asian burger with bulgogi, truffle fries and more views from the top of the bucket ferris wheel thing.  I didnt eat the burger, but my friend did.  There was this thing called a ghost pepper in there, and she couldn't even finish the first and only bite.   oh shoot!  i forgot to take pictures of the sausage & peppers and philly cheesesteak sandwiches.  that was our first meal, and we basically inhaled it.

so crowded, and so hot, we had to ride the ride to catch a breeze.  afterwards, i smelled of sausage, much like you would smell after eating KBBQ.  only here, it smelled better. all in all i spent $22 for food and the ferrid wheel, and that is partially due to the fact that we shared food.  Very expensive there, but when in rome, right?

afterwards, there was this industry nights thing at this bar, Tommy Rockers.  Where food trucks of las vegas rotate and serve food ffrom 1030 - 3 am.  I felt out of place, simply because I don't go to bars that aren't inside a TGIF's or Chili's...or Red Robin.  But after doing it, I think i can do it again. thats where we got the shaved ice from.  and this guy bought it for me.  But let me explain.  I was with my friend patricia, and this guy likes her, so her offered to pay for our shaved ices. i guess he paid for mine by default.  oh well, im ok with it.

so there's my new thing for May. and my weekend in a nutshell.

<3, jen
